"Rugged Metal Housing" and "Secure XLR connector" don't mean fuck all when all of the wires are dangling out in the open, fucking terrible design.

Anyone have any idea how to reattach these blue wires to the transducer on the foam or do I need to order new transducers and resolder those ones to the XLR jack? Fucking things but break for no reason out of nowhere in the middle of a session without even beingness touched.

between black record and cream there is a pocket-sized rectangular shaped bi-metal plate. equally the proper noun says information technology is two different pieces of metal bound together. y'all should solder one wire at the beginning of the plate (one metal piece) and another just few millimeters away where second piece of metal begins.

but one time you intermission them they will never role equally before.

i broke too many of these and best alternative was to purchase roland triggers. these are built every bit tanks!!!

Aren't the new updated Roland triggers plastic, though?

Anyway, you'd be better off buying new cream/transducer pieces Adam. There is a identify online that Brian Hood posted a while back. I bought a few from there for safekeeping, but I've never had one break. Our drummer has an former Ddrum kick trigger that'south probably 12-xv years onetime he caused when he was a kid...That thing has never had a problem and it'due south rusty and has almost lost all it'south paint.

I stock-still 1 once by taping the two little metallic things together and and so securing it to the blue foam with a FUCKTON of tape. Information technology actually works better than stock now, lol.

I haven't been able to repeat information technology on whatever other broken ones though. I'm looking into the rolands myself.

yes roland trigger are plastic indeed, but still pretty tough to break.
all wires are sealed and well protected.

and regarding fixing ddrum triggers, i managed to fix some of them simply i got lower betoken coming out. and on some of them i got picayune bit distorted signal with sustain cutting off in a strange manner...

Adam: I've been told to become the Roland triggers by both Sturgis and Lyle. Sturgis recommended considering of these same immovability problems you are having and besides he feels they are more than accurate. With Lyle, same verbal matter. He said he started off the first tour he did with the Faceless using the DDrum triggers on his kicks just switched to the Roland ones soon after and never looked back. Talking to Murphy though he warned me to stay away from them... but if Lyle is maxim they are more accurate and durable from experience with them on tours then I dunno, that'south pretty of import to me.

Personally, I've not had my DDrum Pros break on me yet, nor take I had very many situations where they weren't authentic enough for me...

I'm virtually to purchase a trigger for my bass drum, just this thread makes me desire to buy Roland i instead of a DDrum trigger.

It makes sense too though, the DDrum triggers have all the wires exposed while the Roland triggers volition probably merely pause if someone steps on them.

I've had a Roland e-kit for years now, and the triggering is nevertheless fairly accurate. Every bit much as information technology isn't accurate I arraign on its historic period... It has seen a lot of use.

    thank you for the tip!

how is the clamp/whatever it is you lot apply to attach the trigger on your bass drum? Spacious and sturdy enough?

I can only find pictures where the trigger looks similar a small blackness plastic box...

  11. AdamWathan

Yep despite beingness lightweight and plastic it is really well designed and well made. The fashion the clench works I can't imagine anyone ever having any problems with it.

Right, cheers. Adept thing I didn't finish up with a ddrum trigger. They don't even have a model in their whole catalog that DOESN'T have the trigger'due south wiring dangling effectually.

Yea Ive had so many ddrum pro triggers go bad. I have 10 of them and i think just 4 are nevertheless working at the moment and thats subsequently repairing like 5 of them over the by several months. If i did not repair them none would be working. Thats not very good odds in my book and i cant bargain with triggers going bad in the middle of a project whatever longer.

I simply ordered the Roland triggers today as well, and then seen this tread then i had to comment. I will postal service back when i get a run a risk to test the Roland out!

i'm glad to share aforementioned thoughts about roland with some of y'all.
only to mention that i've been using roland kick trigger for twelvemonth and a half for studio work and recently for live.
final month we did 16 shows with at least 3 bands playing every dark. for the sake of transport i had to accept it off the drum every nighttime and back on every other mean solar day.
and in combination with expert sometime alesis D4 it worked like a charm.
i still can not afford triggers for rest of the kit, but some 24-hour interval i will.
